Violette “Lettie” Guidry was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of Marien Guidry, the politician and his beautiful wife Charlotte Lacompte Guidry she was surrounded by glamour and influence. Lettie takes after her mother, beautiful and poised and has spent her life in the spotlight. Today is her 19th birthday, after celebrating with her parents that morning, Lettie takes her brand new light blue Mercedes out for a quick spin before planning to meet up with her best friends Carolyn and Harper later today.
Lettie drives through town and across a bridge, and then is engulfed in fog. In her rearview mirror she notices a large car tailgating her. She accelerates a bit and watches as they accelerate to match her. Her heart rate increases as both cars roll towards a wooden, rickety bridge in the bayou. The car behind Lettie accelerates, and the last thing Lettie sees is her brand new Mercedes crashing into the swamp before the world goes dark.
Lettie opens her eyes to mossy trees, and is surrounded by sounds of crickets and frogs. Soon she is wafted by the most unpleasant odor and standing above her is a short, stocky, rust-colored humanoid ape. Lettie screams, but the creature places it`s hands over Lettie`s mouth and says
“What`chu screamin` bou` dahlin`?”
The creature looks down at it`s hands and adds
“Oh, let me change”
The creature takes his hands off of Lettie`s mouth but shushes her and with a snap of it`s fingers the creature changes into a tall man and holds out his hand.
“De name`s Lazar Le Rouge, and I saved yous from de acciden”.
